A series of props, photographs, inspirations and sketches for the SETS to come.
SET NINE, is a series of photomontages using disarticulation, repetition and motion with parts of my body and other props to create a composition set against a photo. Landscape photography, mainly. Materials: dry mounted print on wood and/or metal sheet. A kind of miniature billboards / film posters.
On SET TEN, The skeleton of a Modernica for George Nelson Saucer Bubble Pendant set against a vertical surface. Its center outlined by multicolor Prince Rupert of the Rhine glass tears. Tala bulb in socket at center. Different length wires ending on wooden dowels of different diameters, some painted in matte chroma blue. It is an abstract representation of an eye. 36” wide with varied lengths that fall to ground. The light filters through the colored glass tears. Hangs on wall. Materials: steel, galvanized wire, wood, glass, paint.
SET ELEVEN is an architectural crucifix containing a prayer stool with symbolic objects. Volumes set on different planes and sections and divisions represent the separation between the powerful and the powerless. It is a conversation about avarice, repression, innocence, power, secrecy, inequality, shame and pain. Eight feet tall, hangs on wall. Materials: OSB, wood, lambskin, custom neon, hay bale, natural cane webbing.
