Designing spaces that tell stories. The words I deconstruct and put back together as a world in which to exist. Spanning set design, styling and decorating a wide variety of concepts for editorials, film and television, I pursue each project as an isolated world that supports the actions that thread the narrative. Nothing less, nothing more. I believe the space evoques and grounds its inhabitants by existing, not appropriating. I live and breath ART, my collaborations deliver what writers and directors envision. My diverse background is present in the layered textures, the curated hues, contours and volumes with meaning. I define my collaboration as giving shape to yours.
I was born in Lisbon during my father’s diplomatic mission. My childhood transpired between Europe and The United States; my adolescence began in Venezuela, land of my parents. I fell in love with the urban commotion of Caracas, its cultural richness and polarizing beauty. The many artistic institutions, libraries and temples of thought that supported my design school era at the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas, a prestigious design school that followed the Bruno Munari method. I emerged as an Industrial Designer. Towards the end of my studies I joined the scenery department at the Teresa Carreño theater, my first glimpse at stage design.
I would go on to follow this passion in The States at the end of the century where I began collaborating on sets for advertising, fashion editorials and music videos. After a few years I moved to Madrid where I was offered a position as Photographic Editor at Condè Nast. Shortly, I took pleasure in many other editorial roles that included producing, set styling and authoring several fashion, travel and design articles and editorials. After two years I parted yet remained as a freelance collaborator and began to explore film in short format. Until this day I continue my collaborations on independent films and creating sculptures + scenography based on design & film as part of my private multidisciplinary artistic practice.
I live between Los Angeles and New Mexico.
